Pre & Post Natal Care

Pre And Post Natal Acupuncture in Adelaide

The holistic practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been supporting and assisting mothers and mothers-to-be for thousands of years.

A Natural and Holistic Therapy for Better Babies

The health of a child before and after birth will reflect the health of the parents, not only in the genetically acquired traits but also in the physiological and psychological environment.

In the pursuit of providing the best possible start to life for our babies, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) system of medicine has been employed for thousands of years by women who are mothers, preparing to be mothers and pregnant women. Acupuncture is one major therapeutic tool in the TCM framework.

It is important to ensure optimum health prior to and throughout pregnancy. The goal of TCM and the application of acupuncture is to support the pregnant mother by correcting energy imbalances, according to the TCM understanding, and thereby promote the best opportunity for the positive birthing experience.

  • Pregnancy related musculoskeletal pains

The pain relieving effects for back and pelvic pain in pregnancy have been found to be positive and statistically significant [4], and superior to exercise for reducing evening pelvic pain [5]

Natural Induction of Labour

There are many reasons that a woman may seek more natural ways to help with bringing on labour safely, prior to medical interventions.

Many obstetricians and midwives refer their pregnant patients for assistance with labour preparation, before trying medical interventions, or at the same time as using medical interventions.

The focus of my treatment in this area arises out of my extensive studies focusing on my special interest in Women’s health, Pregnancy and Reproductive medicine.

Further research worth consideration.
